1. Create an app
Sign in Admin Console > Select Apps > App Library > Create Application
You can drag-and-drop your APK files to upload or click to upload
1.1 Complete App details
You need to manage the information of App Detail, Graphic Assets and Screenshots of your app.
App Detail:
Select a default language and add a title for your app.
Enter App Name, Short Description, and Full Description of your app.
*NOTE: This information will appear on App Library.
Graphic assets:
App Icon
You can upload your icon (PNG) to customize your app icon
Screenshots
Requirements:
- JPEG or 24-bit PNG (no alpha)
- Minimum dimension: 320px
- Maximum dimension: 3840px
- The maximum dimension of your screenshot can't be more than twice as long as the minimum dimension.
You can add UP TO 8 screenshots for each supported device type: phone, tablet (7-inch & 10-inch), etc. Click on "Phone" or "Tablet" to select which device you want to upload.
Then, click on a device-specific tab under “Screenshots” to upload your images and drag to reorder screenshots.
1.2 Languages & translations
When you upload an app, the default language is English (United States, en-US).
You can add translations of your app's information along with in-language screenshots and other graphic assets.
Select Apps > App Library > Create Application > upload your app > select +Add languages.
If your app supports multiple languages, select other languages to Add to your localization.
If the app you want to upload to App Library is on Google Play, you can click “To acquire from Google Play” to autofill in-app details quickly.
Review the information listed under “App Details." and click Next to proceed.
NOTE: If your app has multiple languages on Google Play, click “To acquire from Google Play” to autofill in-app details for your multiple languages.
2. Update an app
When you're ready to make changes to your APK, use the following checklist to make sure that existing users will receive your update.
- The Package Name of the updated APK file needs to be THE SAME as the current version.
- The Version of the updated APK file is GREATER THAN the current version.
- The updated APK file has the SAME SIGNATURE to the current version.
NOTE: When updating a newer APK, please change BOTH "versionCode" and "versionName" in your coding.
Upload your APK file
Sign in Admin Console > Select Apps > App Library > choose the app you need to update and click the “Update” icon
Click on Update to upload your APK > click Edit release note to update your note, and click “Next”
Select devices you need to update, staged rollouts range and app publish time.
If you do not want to release your app to App Library immediately, click ”Save but not release”; Or click “Release”. After doing so, click Next to App Release On Demand.
Tips: You can edit the version details which was saved in the draft box and continue with the release process when you click the icon the second time.
NOTE: If you did not choose Force Installation before the release, you can upload a newer APK file and enable Force Installation under Staged Rollouts.
Otherwise, you have to remove the original one and create a new app release.
