In Firefox, Chrome, and Safari browsers, screen casting may fail due to blocking or disallowing screen casting operations. Here are the specific symptoms and solutions:
If you do not allow the Chrome browser to record the screen in the Mac system settings, you will encounter the message "You haven't granted the browser permission to record your screen..." when trying to screen share. (As shown in the image below)
To resolve this issue, you need to go to Mac system settings > Security Privacy > Privacy > Screen Recording and allow Chrome. app to record the screen.
After allowing, please restart the Chrome browser and try again.
In the Safari browser, if you have previously denied webcast.airdroid.com from sharing your screen, you will encounter a direct failure when trying to share the screen. (As shown in the figure below)
If you encounter this situation, you need to unblock it first: Go to Safari browser > Preferences > Websites > Screen Sharing > webcast.airdroid.com, and select "Ask".
After completing the above settings, please refresh the page and try again.
There are two possible situations when the Firefox browser fails to cast.
Scenario 1
If you have previously blocked webcast.airdroid.com from sharing your screen in Firefox settings, you may encounter the message "You blocked the browser from sharing screen content. Screen casting has ended" when attempting to share the screen. (As shown in the image below)
To resolve this issue, you need to unblock the website:
- On the left side of the URL, you will see a button indicating that you have blocked the website from sharing your screen. Click on this button.
- Click on the option "Blocked X" to unblock it.
- After unblocking, refresh the page to restart the screen casting.
When prompted with the message "Please allow screen sharing and choose the content you wish to share?", please click "Select" and choose what you want to share.
Scenario 2
If you do not allow Firefox to record the screen in your Mac system settings, you will encounter the message "You haven't granted the browser permission to record your screen..." when trying to screen share. (As shown in the image below)
To address this situation, you need to go to Mac System Preferences > Security Privacy > Privacy > Screen Recording and allow Firefox. app to record the screen.
After allowing it, please restart the Firefox browser and try again.
